Summer Living Room and continuing the pillow hoard

Now that I have shared our bathroom, I can leave the door to the bathroom open and show you our summer living space. I put the bright and colourful pillows away and brought in the european neutrals of ticking and stripes.

the green velvet chair got one of my black grainsack pillows but i am super excited about the new to me vintage rug i scooped at a fair for 40 bucks. yup 40 bucks, almost fell over when the lady said that.

the sofas and chair pillows are so calming right now. it is a fantastic retreat from the spring brights and before the fall colours. the large hemp pillows are made from antique linen sheet rolls, the white pillow on the left is an old one from ikea, the corner pillows are my favourite charcoal and grey ticking i use everywhere i can, pottery barn euro white sham and antique indigo. the small lumbar on the right side is the same black and linen ticking from the patio and the large black and linen stripe is a fabric by ralph lauren

our summer mantel. i decided to walk the brass miss america trophy into the house and have her be friends with the tigers when she was still hanging around after the show

Thanks for stopping by today.

I am in the process of putting together a new house tour for next week to update the one from last year as a lot has changed including my camera equipment. I am excited to share our entire space with you again.

  1. I love all of your vignettes, such a pretty room and you always do things so well.

  2. You have such an inviting space & I am pretty much in love with every single one of your pillows!

  3. I really love how much more relaxed the gray/striped/neutral linens are compared to the previous pillows -- very appropriate now that the weather is really starting to feel like summer!

  4. So beautiful, everything, thanks for posting...this is inspiring!!

  5. Wow Meg so pretty. What a wonderful space.

  6. I love it all, but the binoculars, the ticking and RL stripe fabric pillows, and the capital with bottle (did you drill a hole for that to fit like a glove or what?!) are my faves this time around. I have some brain coral like yours that I collected from a favorite vacation spot of ours - they make great door stops too. What a deal on your rug!

  7. Your home is gorgeous as usual, Meg. That was quite the score with the rug. I visited an antique/fine furniture/vintage store in Burlington yesterday after seeing this update and they had very similar rugs, about the same size for $600 each. I checked more than one tag because I was surprised. Love your pillows. I'm wondering if you could answer a question? Are your interior levers black (or ORB) and where did you get them? I want to switch our interior door knobs/levers to black. I already found the hinges at Home Depot but I'm having trouble finding black levers for less than $53 each (Cdn.) I need a dozen not including the basenent.

    1. hey elizabeth
our main floor is oil rubbed bronze and i am pretty sure we bought them at home depot. the ones in our basement are black but i could only find plain knobs not lever so we went with that. the black knobs were really reasonable but that is going back about 5 years now.
      hope this helps

Leave me a note. I'd love to hear from you.
