Boxwood Buffet Take Two

So as the title states, this my friends is take two.
I have had so many people asking about my buffet from my dining room that is was time to try my hand at a new re-creation. I am not selling my buffet anytime in the near future.

Anyone reading my blog knows that I love love love green. It is my favourite colour so  this was not an arm twisting re-creation at all.

this buffet/sideboard is sporting green like mine in #missmustardseedmilkpaint in boxwood.
one thing i wish i had when doing mine was the wonder of hemp oil. i can clearly remember waxing and buffing for about 2 hours to get the deep green on my buffet. this buffet took a full coat of hemp oil and then after some drying time i re-wiped down the buffet with a dry cloth and then added some annie sloan dark wax for depth and some distressing

the hardware on the drawers came out of my vintage knob stash. brass and porcelain, classic style that ties in with the door hardware which was original to the piece. i took a photo of the hardware that came off the piece and what happened after i brasso'd them

i sanded this piece prior to starting only in some areas as i did want some chipping. i only ended up with a little bit of chipping but it looks great in natural areas.

when i was styling this piece with brass to pull out the handles i used my lamp from the living room as i thought it just needed a lamp to look realistic. i added a marble trivet under the lamp to ground it. sometimes you just need another layer to make a piece look at home. this lamp is mine and will not be in the sale no matter how nice you ask but, everything else will be at the sale.

Now for the traditional before photo,

Have a fantastic weekend all and share the green love,
