Greige drum table and trunks

Good morning everyone.

I am drawing a blank writing this post thinking of something witty. blah, writers block.
I promise to get back on my storytelling game tomorrow.
I have been fighting a foot of the bed table for 2 weeks in bouts of frustration with bleeding 40's paint (yes i did primer and shellac) and it has stolen my good painting moments thunder. I think I finally got it handled and it should be making an appearance here soon.

Another set of interesting items have just been finished up this past week with the same greige combo of chalk paint as these tables.

A great drum table with drawer and a square cube trunk and a few more neat sneak peek items that will be available at the sale. I came across a few more great galvanized watering cans this past weekend and suitcases. Our sale room has some great stuff hanging out waiting for the chance to shine.

i loved the brass on the latch of this trunk so kept it intact and it goes so well with the colour tone of the paint

this drum table has a little secret to tell........

it has an olive surprise inside. with a few coats of shellac to prevent bleed through on the drawer, this drawer is cute and ready for action

BEFORES:
the trunk was a really shiny scratched brass that would have been neat left alone if the scratches didn't look so messy. the drum table was a mess of scratches and rings on the top but very sturdy in structure.

Have a great day everyone!

See you tomorrow,

  7. Lovely and the green in the drawer is a pretty surprise. My sister and I both received trunks like that as Christmas gifts in our early teens. The brass edging and lock were the same but the panels were patterned. We stored our treasures in them for many years. Hoping I can make it to the sale.
