A Summer tablescape

I simplified the dining room table with the arrival of the summer season. We eat most of our meals in our outdoor dining area so the giant candleabra that was residing in the middle of the table was unnecessary.

I flipped it out for a nice low table running arrangement that I can add fresh flowers to as I pick or buy them.

Lots of white, old and green. Right up my alley.

we found the round marble tray at the country living fair in rhinebeck.

I always try out 1 item in the center of the table or 2 and keep it simple. Walk away and come back from different angles. It just never works out that way. Apparently I like to dust as a few pointed out in my Houzz shoot. lol. I love seeing some of my collections out in the open instead of stuffed in the cupboard never being used. We use our good glassware and dishes often. It seems so wasteful to leave it for twice a year.

What do you think? Do you use your dishware, do you have hoards of glassware like me? Come on don't leave me hanging here!

Have a great day,

  1. Yes, I am a dishes and glassware hoarder, but I do keep most of it put away. I hate to dust! Your tablescape is refreshing and feels simple despite its complex elements. Lovely!

  3. By a chance view of this table on Pinterest I followed it here and fell in love with your table arrangement. I love the different elements and the green and that green cabinet behind but most of all, it drives me crazy that I can't seem to arrange things on my long kitchen table. We eat all our meals at it so need space for that and for some jobs I want to sit down for. I don't know why my long table is so hard for me to style but your pictures above are heaven sent as a teacher for me. I'm going back to follow and follow your pinterest and add you to my blogroll as I don't want to miss future lessons!

I am a china hoarder instead of a glassware hoarder, also a silver hoarder, table linen hoarder. But I do have lots of cupboards where it is all there for me to reach it and rotate it being out. Never enough cupboards of course, no dish pantry.

Now I'm going to see more!

  11. We use our vintage red and white transferware, daily! The footed stems, not as often, but pretty regularly!!
I love your centerpiece...that tray is amazing!! I think the little creamer in the tray is Adams "Empress". I have quite a bit of that set too :^)...ummm did you mention hoarding????? Nah....I didn't think so :^)
    Blessings to you,
