Back to our regularly scheduled winter program.

It is a sad time of year. The Christmas decor comes down, the Christmas movies stop playing and the cookies are all gone (thanks to someone other than me that lives here, whom is graciously known as the cookie monster at this time of year)
The sparkle and twinkles are dimmed but, with that comes the relaxing calm of our winter decor. My aversion to colour gets strong at this time of year, and I really enjoy the whites and neutrals like the outdoors. My branch fetish jumps into full swing and I just want to snuggle up in my fur blankets.

the front foyer doesn"t change too dramatically but the birds are back at their perch.

a simple vignette on the console table.

rusticity (is that a word? it should be)

return of the conks.

the birch remains nestled in its basket amongst the wood and iron pulleys.

the cats are enjoying their perch being returned after the removal of the tree.

smile pretty furball

our dining room tablescape. the barrel stave candleholder was a handmade Christmas gift from my winemaker brother. He is off to Australia to make more wine for 6 months on Saturday, and I will miss him a lot.

the bathroom gets a little nature/salvage facelist as well.

ooh I couldn't resist more tree-like branches in the bathroom. it reaches right to the ceiling. i loooove eet!

Is your Christmas decor down? How do you like to relax in your home after the holidays?
Have a great day.
Meg
